Freeland defeats North Branch 6-1, 12-2 in girls softball action Tuesday at North Branch at Current News

Game 1: Freeland 6, North Branch 1

Game 2: Freeland 12, North Branch 2

Game 1: Freeland's Marisa Kain and Sara Reisinger each had three hits and one RBI each to lead Freeland to a victory over North Branch.

Michele Pratt earned the win for Freeland. Pratt pitched seven innings and had nine strike outs. Offensively, Pratt had two hits and two RBI's.

North Branch's Kyla Dutcher had two hits.

Game 2: Maris Kain earned the win for Freeland pitching six innings with seven strike outs.

Freeland's Janna Brown had three hits with two RBI's. Sara Reisinger, Chelsea Niedzwieck and Ashley Youngstrom each had two hits a piece for Freeland.

"We finally put two good games together," Freeland coach Dan Behmlander said. "The bats came alive today. It was fun to put two wins on the board."

Kyla Dutcher added two hits for North Branch.
